The International Programs Office at the University of Idaho offers various awards to support U of I students studying abroad and international students attending the university. Among these awards is the "Invitation to Idaho" tuition waiver, designed for qualified new, first-time freshmen and transfer students pursuing their first bachelor's degree in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.

Invitation to Idaho Tuition Waiver

Details:

• Value: $15,966 savings for the 2023-2024 academic year.
• Waiver Application: Automatically applied to eligible students; no separate application required.
• Billing: Students will initially see full in-state and non-resident tuition charges each semester. The waiver amount of $7,983 will be applied to the billing statement once full-time enrollment is confirmed.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a resident of a non-WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) state or an international student.
• Must be a new, first-time freshman admitted to the University of Idaho.
• Must be pursuing a first bachelor's degree.
• Must have an incoming GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credits).

 

Renewability:

• First-year recipients: Waiver renewable for up to four years, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the University of Idaho.
• Transfer students: Waiver renewable for up to three additional years, depending on the number of transfer credits, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
