Fluor is providing program management and construction supervision services for the approximately $5 billion Sharq Crossing program

Sharq Crossing is a marquee program in Qatar’s ambitious development plans ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The project will traverse Doha Bay and will comprise bridge sections interconnected by an immersed tube tunnel to create a new passageway beneath the waters of Doha Bay. Completion of the system is required by 2020 to support the run-up to the World Cup event. 

General Job Description:

•  Monitor the construction area to prevent environmental impacts, warning of unforeseen exceptional events that have repercussions on the natural and social environments.
•  Provide and monitor the design teams with environmental requirements and V&V (Verification and Validation) items to comply with.
• Ensure that the project design and implementation are in full compliance with the Fluor PPM (Project Procedure Manual), Fluor environmental process, Ashghal environmental procedure and manuals, and other local laws and regulation that applies on environmental issues.
•  Determines methods and solutions for complex environmental problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.
• Manage, plan and coordinate the work of the team carrying out the environmental monitoring programme.
• Responsible for providing technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
• To ensure compliance with environmental legislation throughout the organisation through the management of internal and external stakeholders.
• Inform and advise the construction management of the correct method for carrying out the work.
• Supervise the preparation of the reports arising from the carrying out of the programme and the submission of these to Senior Management for Quality and Environmental Evaluation.
• Resolve environmental aspects that arise during the carrying out of the construction at the requirement of the government.
• Carry out the measures and analyses stipulated in the environmental monitoring programme to ensure the correct tracking of the aspects to be monitored.  
•  Provide regular progress and update reports to Project Professional Services Director 

Requirements:

1. An accredited Bachelors or Masters degree
2. Professional Engineer or other professional license
3. Minimum of 15 years of work experience w/ 5 years experience as Environmental Manager.
4. Preferably with experience working in the Middle East.
