About the Opportunity Funds Program
The EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program is designed to identify academically gifted Nigerian students who have the potential to secure full financial aid from U.S. universities but lack the financial resources to pay for the application process.
Selected participants receive personalized guidance from EducationUSA advisers throughout the university application journey, increasing their chances of gaining admission and scholarships at leading U.S. institutions.
What the Program Covers
The Opportunity Funds Program may cover many of the upfront expenses involved in applying to universities in the United States, including:
- Standardized examination fees (such as TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT, or GRE, where applicable)
- U.S. university application fees
- International passport costs
- Visa application fees
- SEVIS fee
- Airfare to the United States (for successful scholars)
- Application advising and mentoring
- College admission guidance
- Limited additional application-related expenses where approved
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Nigerian citizenship
- Outstanding academic performance
