Nigerian Lady Achieves Childhood Dream, Earns PhD at 26 from Babcock University ‎

 

‎A young Nigerian scholar, Uzzibi Methuselah, has inspired many online after successfully earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Babcock University at the age of 26.


‎The achievement became a trending topic on social media after the young academic shared the emotional story behind her journey. According to her, the dream began over a decade ago when she was only 15 years old.

‎In a heartfelt post shared on LinkedIn, Uzzibi revealed that after completing her final WAEC examination in 2015, she sat in the examination hall reflecting on her future and made a personal promise to herself — to earn a PhD within the next ten years.

‎Eleven years later, that dream has become reality.

‎The young scholar recently defended her doctoral thesis titled “Boko Haram Deradicalization and Human Security in Northeast Nigeria” and was officially awarded a PhD in Political Science with specialization in Defense and Strategic Studies.

‎Sharing her excitement online, she wrote that completing the doctorate remains one of the earliest and most important long-term goals she ever set for herself.


Uzzibi also expressed gratitude to her academic supervisors, mentors, family members, and friends who supported her throughout the rigorous journey. She particularly appreciated her father for being a constant source of guidance and encouragement during her academic career.

‎Her story quickly attracted congratulatory messages from social media users, many of whom praised her dedication, discipline, and intellectual excellence at such a young age.
