Job Overview
Standard Bank Group is seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliations Officer to join its Insurance & Asset Management segment in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Reconciliations Officer is responsible for managing resolution-related transactions efficiently, accurately, and with high ethical standards to drive customer satisfaction. The role focuses on daily contribution reconciliation, managing transfer instructions to custodians, and supporting regulatory and reporting compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily transaction uploads accurately and issue timely transfer instructions to custodians for execution.
- Maintain precision across all account positions to identify, address, and prevent balance discrepancies.
- Reconcile non-uploaded contributions and advise operational teams on routing them appropriately (e.g., into TCF or UCR systems).
- Prepare reports for regulators (such as PENCOM) and process evidence of payment instructions for requesting employers.
- Resolve transaction query escalations in compliance with organizational policies and pension administration standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in any Social Sciences discipline or related field.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in financial reconciliations and operations.
- Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of transaction processing workflows, internal control mechanisms, and general pension operations/regulations in Nigeria.
