About the Job

The Electrical Manager – Power Plant will be responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance and ensuring the reliability, availability and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment within the power plant.

The successful candidate will provide technical and managerial leadership to the electrical maintenance team and ensure that maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently and according to established standards.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Manager

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Manage electrical maintenance activities within the power plant.

  • Supervise electrical maintenance personnel and contractors.

  • Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Manage maintenance work orders and ensure their timely completion.

  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems.

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of power-generation equipment.

  • Monitor the condition and performance of electrical systems.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and procedures.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Support continuous improvement of plant electrical systems and maintenance processes.

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to electrical maintenance personnel.

  • Ensure effective execution of maintenance plans and schedules.

Dangote Electrical Manager Job Requirements

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a gas-turbine-based power plant.

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical power-generation systems.

  • Experience working with generators, transformers, motors, relays and cables.

  • Knowledge of Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR).

  • Knowledge of compressors and AC systems.

  • Good understanding of modern electrical systems and industrial power-plant equipment.

  • Proven experience managing electrical maintenance activities.

  • Experience supervising maintenance personnel.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good leadership and team-management skills.
